Membership forms were provided to the First Hour HS and Advisory MS teachers. Membership cards are being sent to the students via those teachers,
PTSA will be holding more Jean days in the coming school year. Those students who join early will be able to wear jeans twice next year.
Students: Breakfast on PTSA- This is a First Hour and Advisory contest- When the contest ends, that class (one MS & one HS) that has the highest percentage of PTSA student member growth AND the teacher is also a member, will receive donuts and juice. This contest ends on February 26th and breakfast will be served on the last school day of the trimester.
Teachers and Staff -Night out on PTSA - We are working for 100% teacher, principal and staff membership. To say thank you to those who join, we will be holding a drawing for each group. One member of the HS teachers, one from the MS and one from the support staff will receive a cash award and a gift certificate to Keresotes theaters. This contest ends on March 12th. Drawings will occur at the April/May PTSA meeting.
The PTSA will continue selling memberships until March 12, 2010 for the current year.
Please remember parents
and students that Juniors need to join PTSA to be eligible for
scholarships in their senior year AND Seniors need to join this year to
remain eligible. Membership in PTSA is one of the requirements for
eligibility for the PTSA $300 scholarships given to graduating seniors.
Gavit PTSA's program is in it's 10th year and we have given 19 scholarships to our students to date!
We appreciate your support of your students and the PTSA.

The 2010 PSAT test date for GAVIT is October 14th. All 10th grade students must take the test! You must sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT at your high school or at another high school in your community. This test is administered by high schools, not through test centers. Online registration for the PSAT/NMSQT is not available. Please note that each high school chooses only one test date.
If you would like to take the PSAT/NMSQT, contact your high school counselor or principal to find out about registering for the test, paying the test fees, and learning the correct date, time, and location that your school will give the test in October. Also, contact your guidance office for a copy of the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT to help you prepare before test day.
If you register online at www.collegeboard.com
(AOL keyword College Board),
you must use Gavit's CEEB code: 151-443.
FAFSA – You must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal student aid and to apply for most state and college aid. Apply online at www.fafsa.gov by March 10, 2010.
