PTSA Meetings:
Meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.for the Executive Committee and 7:00 PM for everyone, in the new cafeteria. Please watch this website and the newsletter for any change in meeting day or time. We'd love to have you attend our meetings, and we'll always welcome your help and ideas.

The PTSA continues selling memberships and reminds the parents and students that Juniors need to join PTSA to be eligible for scholarships in their senior year and Seniors need to join this year to remain eligible. Membership in PTSA is one of the requirements for eligibility for the PTSA $300 scholarships given to graduating seniors.

We appreciate your support of your students and the PTSA.

School Board Meetings:
The Hammond School Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Administration Building, 41 Williams St. Show your support, voice your opinion, show your concern — attend a School Board meeting. Check SCH Board Information here

Community Events:

Hammond Health Department will be closed after December 31, 2007. Contact the Lake County Health Dept in Crown Point at (219) 755-3655 .

FAFSA CHANGES :

This notice means the students are responsible for either ordering a paper form or completing the form on line. ALL 21st Scholar kids MUST file a FAFSA form to be eligible for the funds.

Attention: Change in Distribution for 2008–09

For 2008–09 paper FAFSAs will not be available for order in bulk. Students will be able to obtain a paper FAFSA by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or by visiting www.edpubs.org. Students may request up to three copies of the paper application and should receive their FAFSAs in three to seven business days.

New for 2008–09 is a PDF version of the FAFSA that students can submit for processing. Beginning in mid-November the PDF will be available for download on various Federal Student Aid Web sites, such as www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov . Students can access the PDF, complete the form on the computer or by hand, and mail it to the address provided for processing. Schools will also be able to access the PDF from www.FSAPubs.org .
