National PTA asked for a membership dues increase at this year's convention of fifty cents and it was approved.
Because of that increase we will be voting on a new dues amount at the next two meetings. Please come and help us decide what the new Gavit PTSA dues will be.
Meanwhile the board decided to keep the original dues until Winter Break, December 21st. After that all new members will be paying a higher membership dues. We need to raise our dues if we want to continue putting a portion into the scholarship fund.

Please remember parents
and students that Juniors need to join PTSA to be eligible for
scholarships in their senior year AND Seniors need to join this year to
remain eligible. Membership in PTSA is one of the requirements for
eligibility for the PTSA scholarships given to graduating seniors.
Gavit PTSA's program is in it's 10th year and we have given 19 scholarships to our students to date!
We introduced 2 themes this year and plan to continue them:
Fathers, Uncles, Grandfathers : Real Men Join PTA- You show your students that you care by supporting them this way. We are hoping you will join us and help us decide on some fun activities during the school year.
For our students: We will be working with Mrs. Ondas and Mr. Allen and other school organizations to help the students have multiple opportunities to grow in leadership and responsibility during the school year. We also hope you will help with planning some fun activities also. Help us come up with a theme for this year that represents you the student.
We appreciate your support of your students and the PTSA.
Gavit PTSA will continue to support our teachers and staff through letters to the legistature.
PTSA Membership Growth: We are extremely happy with our membership numbers as of this time as we increased our total from last year at this time by 39.583 %. Now please help us to double, triple or quadruple these numbers and win the Outstanding Membership award and the 500 Club award. That would only be about one third of our school population. Imagine how outstanding it would be if we had everyone of our parents and students join. National PTA would take notice.
