Scholarship

The Gavit High School PTSA will be awarding two Gavit PTSA Scholarships. Each Scholarship will be $300.00. The recipients will be graduating seniors who plan to continue their education at an appropriate college, university, and technical or trade school. The scholarship committee reviews the Gavit PTSA Scholarship process annually. Scholarship money may be applied to tuition, room and board, and books. The check will be sent directly to the school. Application forms will be obtained from the Counselor's Office, who will have a list of the current eligible seniors.

Prerequisites:

  1. The applicant MUST be a current member of the Gavit High School PTSA prior to 2010 and also MUST be a PTSA member for at least two (2) years (Junior and Senior years).
  2. The applicant MUST be a Gavit Senior graduating in the 2009-2010 school year.
  3. The applicant MUST have attended two years at Gavit High School.
  4. The applicant MUST participate in "School" and "Community" activities.
  5. The applicant MUST have at least a 2.5 grade point average (cumulative).

Directions and Specific Information Needed:

  1. If all prerequisites are met, please read and complete the entire application.
  2. Attach two Letters of Recommendation (One person from Gavit and one from a community leader such as your sponsor from scouts, pastor, youth group leader, etc.).
  3. Student must sign application.
  4. Parent or Guardian must sign application.
  5. Turn in completed application to your counselor on or before TBA
  6. Applications that are incomplete, incorrect or received after the due date WILL NOT RECEIVE CONSIDERATION!

21st Century Scholars:
Attention Parents of 7th and 8th Graders: It's never too early to start planning for college. Your 7th or 8th grade student can get up to $25,000 to attend a participating Indiana public or private college, university, or proprietary institution. Contact your Middle School Counselor in  the Counseling Office to find out if you qualify for this program. If you do qualify, make sure that your application is turned in by June 30, 2008. Don't pass up this opportunity!!
